Preventative Measures for COVID-19 at Big Cedars 2020

We are so excited and thankful to be able to have camp this year, and we want you to know the safety of our campers and staff is extremely important to us.

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Camp Big Cedars has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and other contagious diseases; however, Camp Big Cedars cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19 or any other infectious disease due to participation in camp activities.

Because of this, we are asking that all campers and staff members attending Big Cedars 2020 sign a waiver acknowledging the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assuming the risks.

The waiver can be found and downloaded here: https://siteassets.pagecloud.com/camp-big-cedars/COVID-19_Waiver-ab96f.pdf

This waiver is also included in all online applications. Carefully read these new terms in full before submitting your application.

To learn more about the specific preventative measure we're taking to reduce the spread of COVID-19 at camp, watch this informative video, and/or read the information below.

These are a few of the ways we will be working to help keep our campers and staff healthy at Big Cedars 2020:

  • Regular sanitation of commonly touched surfaces (ex. door knobs and light switches)

  • Hand sanitizer stations available in cabins, restrooms, gym, and dining hall

  • Kitchen staff will take extra precautions such as wearing masks when preparing uncooked food items, and servers will wear masks and gloves when serving meals.

  • Campers will not be allowed to serve themselves any food items, such as cereal or drinks

While we would love to see as many campers at possible at Camp Big Cedars, please do not come or send your child to camp if you or your camper has exhibited any of the following symptoms within the last 14 days:

  • Fever over 100.4 degrees

  • Extreme Fatigue

  • Dry cough

  • Difficulty breathing

  • New loss of taste or smell

In addition, we ask that you do not come or send your child to camp if:

  • You, your child, or any household members have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 30 days

  • You, your child, or any household member has been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 (to the best of your knowledge)

  • You, your child, or any household members have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the last 30 days

We are praying for the health and safety of everyone at Camp Big Cedars, and we hope to see you this July at Camp Big Cedars!
